 अंदर झाँक लो जब तक सब स्थिर

इस गर्म रात को सिरहाने से आवाज़ें आ रही हैं
 

सिरहाने पर कान रखकर बाएँ बगल पर टिककर सोता हूँ
 

पलकें मूँदते ही निकल आते हैं जुलूस
 

हुजूम चल रहा है और शोर बढ़ता आ रहा है 

वे सामने दिखती हर चीज़ को चूरमचूर करते आ रहे हैं
 

सेनापति ने योजनाएँ बनाई हैं कि कैसे इनको तबाह किया जाए
 

व्यूह वापस बुलाए हैं हमने इतिहास के पन्नों से

पुराणों में से निकाल जीवंत किए हैं अश्वमेध-आख्यान

सरकारें क्या पूरी कायनात को तबाह करने की योजना बन रही है 

फिलहाल कायनात अपनी धुरी पर है
 

शहरों में गगनचुंबी इमारतें स्थिर खड़ी हैं
 

अँधेरे में जगमगाहट दिखती है खिड़कियों से आती रोशनी से
 

अंदर झाँक लो जब तक सब स्थिर है
 

देख लो एक किशोरी कैसे शांत सोती है
 

उम्र ही ऐसी है कि कितनी साफ दिखती है दुनिया
 

फिलहाल लुत्फ उठाओ मशीन की ठंड में काँपते हुए

आखिरी लड़ाई होनी है कल।

This night, hot, I hear voices from my pillow

I put my ears on the pillow and lie down on my left 

side

I close my eyes, I see the marches

The crowd marching and the noise approaching

They are crushing everything in sight

My commander has planned to eliminate them
